The red diodes are true 660 reds, which are supposed to be better for photosynthesis. They also changed the 24/7 cycle to help reduce algae and also provide a 3 hour time frame of actual darkness. However, this tank will be a co2 tank, so I'm unsure if I should not use the 24/7 mode and stick to the highest mode, which made me think would a different cheaper Finnex Planted+ 24/7 is a range of aquarium lights brought to you by Finnex.

I run the Finnex 24/7 on my piranha tank and have found a few issues with itnot sure if the Marine model has fixed those or not. The first, which really isn't an issue but more of a lack of features is that the 24/7 mode is not programmable..it starts at 6am and runs until 8 or 9 at night. I just bought a Finnex 24/7 Planted Plus.
